Nurse with PatientWhat is Schedule A?

Schedule A is a list of occupations for which the U.S. Department of Labor has determined that there is an insufficient number of U.S. workers who are able, willing, qualified and available.

What occupations are listed on Schedule A?

Professional Nurses and Physical Therapists

What are the advantages of schedule A visas?

Normally, employers are required to prove to the Department of Labor that they cannot find US workers for the position; however, since nurses and physical therapists are listed as shortage occupations under the Department of Labor’s Schedule A, they can bypass the recruitment normally required for labor certification. This will allow nurses and physical therapists to obtain an expedited path toward lawful permanent residence.
